text of the petition
ACQUIT SUSPECT LUIGI MANGIONE OF THE MURDER OF UNITED HEALTHCARE CEO BRIAN THOMPSON.
Regardless of whether or not Luigi Mangione himself is guilty, the execution of a man who was responsible for the deaths of thousands by DELAYING and DENYING healthcare claims in a systemic, automatic process is a popularly supported action , as I hope this petition will demonstrate.
A significant number of Americans are in support Mangione's alleged actions are rhetoric, as can be seen in virtually any comment section and every social media platform.
As a democratic nation, it should be the decision of Americans if public opinion and solidarity is great enough. What are 12 jurors and a judge worth if millions of Americans want Luigi Mangione acquitted?
Brian Thompson would never have faced justice, even though thousands of people died by his own actions and policies. By hiding behind a corporate entity that he was responsible for, Thompson was not liable in a legal sense, buthat blood was on his hands
It is obscene that we are a fist-world country that does not have universal or single -payer healthcare. It is absurd that 45,000 people die every year due to a lack of health insurance.
It is repugnant that men and women like Brian Thompson make millions of dollars every year by allowing their policy-holders to pay insurance premiums and then die from treatable illnesses and injuries by denying and delaying their claims.
The death of United Healthcare's CEO was not murder, it was justice.
This is pivotal moment in US history. If it takes one good guy with a gun to take down a bad guy with the power over life and death and health insurance claims, this is our time to let our voices be unified. Please sign this petition. Please link to it. Drop it into comment sections. Let it be seen, so we can be heard.
