Petition addressed to: Residents of Ontario
To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario: I, Austin Toth, along with the undersigned would like to make the Legislative Assembly aware of the potential changes to the: Cancer Clinic, Huntsville-Memorial Site.
We the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows: Petition Mission Statement - We the undersigned would like to ensure the Cancer Clinic remains in the Huntsville District Memorial Site. We affirm the strategic and equitable treatment option of the Huntsville cancer clinic and its continuing operation
Reason
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare plans to move the Huntsville cancer clinic to Bracebridge. For patients in the north half of the district, that is an extra 30 minutes each way, after chemotherapy, in February, on a highway that closes. We are asking that the clinic stay where it is.

My husband is battling cancer and during his care we had to drive from Guelph to Hamilton five days a week for several weeks—a two-hour round trip every day in the winter. Those trips meant added travel costs, increased pain and exhaustion for him, and constant challenges arranging childcare, all during one of the most difficult periods of our lives. I strongly oppose the closure of the cancer treatment centre. No one battling cancer—or caring for someone who is—should have to face even more hardship just to access the treatment they need.
